Dysautonomia has become one of the more common and more baffling presentations clinicians see after COVID infection or vaccination. Dr. Kirk Milhoan, a pediatric cardiologist, works through the pathophysiology behind these cardiac autonomic disorders in Long Covid and Post-Vaccine Syndrome, lays out the diagnostic criteria that separate one subtype from another, and matches supportive and pharmacologic treatments to specific symptom patterns. It puts a mechanism and a treatment plan behind a condition many patients have struggled to get taken seriously.
Learning objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the pathophysiology of Long Covid and Post-Vaccine Syndrome in causing dysautonomias.
- Know the diagnostic criteria of each of the subtypes.
- Know supportive treatment options for different symptomatologies.
- Understand the underlying mechanisms of the pharmacological therapy.
